The Simple Equation
1 Cubic Yard = 27 Cubic Feet
3 feet high X 3 feet wide X 3 feet deep = 27 Cubic Feet

 

 

We sell our products by the Cubic Yard, in 1/2 cu. yd. increments, so there is no doubt about how much you are buying!
We do not sell by the "Scoop." What's a Scoop anyway?
  In accordance with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Division of Consumer Protection, Weights and Measures, selling bulk mulches by the Cubic Yard is permitted when sellers are able to load customers that exact volume with precision and repeatability. Once this is demonstrated and verified by them, certification is granted, assuring consumers they are actually purchasing the stated volume each time. We are the first landscape supply company to have such a certification.

For the past several years, we have been working closely with the Department of Agriculture to establish the ways and means to achieve an industry-wide standard and certification policy to protect you, the consumer. In the summer of 2004, Luxury Landscape became the first company in our industry to construct an on-site Cubic Yard Reference Standard which was certified by the State of Georgia.

These pictures show our custom built Cubic Yard bucket being loaded into our Cubic Yard Reference Standard, which was certified by the State of Georgia, Weights and Measures Laboratory in August 2004. Note that our Cubic Yard bucket filled "water-level" fills the Cubic Yard Reference Standard so there is no doubt about what you are getting for your money.
     
     
     
     
 
Who We Buy From
 

We purchase our products from reputable companies located in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee - and one product (lava rock) comes from as far away as the New Mexico and Colorado border.

Our suppliers are all effectively equipped, sufficiently capitalized, professionally managed and have a track record so that we are assured they will be in business for years to come. This helps us keep our "standard products" in stock and the quality as consistent as possible.

Mother Nature does play a part in varying some of our products. Occasionally products we purchase vary in size, color, and texture. So, unfortunately we can't guarantee matches in size, color or texture from previous purchases. If you absolutely need to match something you've already put in your yard, bring in a sample to compare it to our existing stock. With few exceptions, you'll almost always be able to purchase a suitable match.
